Our Company

W.J.P. DEVELOPMENT, LLC was established as a New Hampshire limited liability company in 2003 by Jeffrey D. Gilbert and Stuart M. Scharff to acquire, develop and manage community shopping centers and other commercial real estate. The Company’s offices are located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

The Company and its affiliated entities own and manage approximately 310,000 square feet of gross leasable space in retail properties located throughout New Hampshire and Vermont.  These properties have been acquired, repositioned and developed over the past 17 years.

W.J.P. Development’s focus has been geographically on properties located in New Hampshire due to Mr. Scharff and Mr. Gilbert’s confidence in the stability and resiliency of that State’s economy. They have extensive experience in real estate, finance, and retailing.  Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Scharff’s demonstrated expertise is in finding, acquiring, repositioning, and re-tenanting shopping centers that are well located but in need of revitalization. W.J.P. Development is actively seeking new acquisition opportunities to which it can add significant value through appropriate physical plant improvements, coupled with a carefully planned approach to tenant repopulation.

The Company is wholly owned by Mr. Gilbert and Mr. Scharff.  They directly manage the business by creating its acquisition and development strategies and utilize appropriate professionals to assist them in their implementation.  The Company’s leasing activities are conducted through Chris McMahon of Summit Realty Partners and the center’s property management is through Neil Wittet of  Tetra Property Group.
